WHY RENT LIGHTS INSTEAD OF OWNING

When you buy lights you are tied into a company who can change your prices as often as they like.  Not to mention there is no motivation to give you a good quality product, offer good customer service, or even come back to take your lights down in January.

– Installers will only work with their own lights.
Most reputable companies will only hang their own lights.  This is not a tactic to increase sales or to “get you”.  As an installer, we cannot guarantee that another company used quality products or that they cut your lights correctly (and efficiently).  Because of this we also cannot guarantee our work or warranty the service which ultimately leads to an unhappy client. In addition, lights are an electrical product and can have issues that can be VERY problematic. We cannot accept liability resulting from another company’s work.
– People like change.
When you purchase lights if you want to change your colors you must BUY new LED lights.  This is not cheap.  If you haven’t purchased your lights then you only need to pay a service fee for a color change.
– Downsizing and upgrading happens.
Lights are custom fit and can only be used for one house.  If you move you are left giving the lights to the new owners. If you have rented the lights for your home you are out NOTHING.  You will simply get a new bid on your new home.
– Quality matters.
Since you are renting lights you have no real long term investment in any company.  That means that your light company needs to win you back every year with the quality of their products, price, customer service, and warranty service.
-Storage.
You don’t need to find a place for your lights or wonder where you put them when it’s time for installation.
-Warranty.
We give a full lifetime warranty on all lights we rent. If your lights are not working properly just reach out to us and we will fix them.  The manufacturers warranty only covers 1 year for parts and no labor to fix anything once they are hung.
-Removal.
As the owners of the lights, we are highly motivated to return to take them down.

WHY CAN’T WE USE YOUR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS THAT HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED AND HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALLY CUT BY ANOTHER COMPANY?

  • All holiday lighting companies use different materials. We are unable to match the product of other companies so the lights hang right and the colors match
  • We are not able to guarantee that the previous company did a good job installing the lights, and that they have left them in good shape
  • We are not able to warranty the lights or the installation when we are not the original installer. You don’t just want Christmas lights, you want beautiful Christmas lights
  • There is no guarantee we are going to be able to understand how the previous company hung them the first time and how they should be rehung (think of it like doing large puzzle on top of a sloped surface)

We know that when you purchased lights you invested a lot of money, and that you want something stunning. We like to provide stunning work and cannot guarantee that when using another company’s product.

Timer FAQs

We use a photocell timer. Photocell timers come on automatically at dusk and will remain on for the time set on the dial.
If they are in direct path of lights (headlights, street lamps, or porch lights) they will register “daylight” and kick off.
To avoid this, the timer should be turned towards a wall or even placed behind a porch decoration.

(If you have a timer in eave outlets, the inside switch will need to be “on”, to activate your timer. When you are ready to have your lights stop coming on nightly, just turn the switch “off”)

Eave Outlet FAQs

  • These outlets are wired like a “lamp outlet” so you have a switch inside of your house to turn them on.  Sometimes electricians are sneaky and hide them. Suggestions for places to look are: behind your door, a coat closet, or your garage.  If you have a phantom switch that doesn’t seem to do anything, that’s probably the one.
  • Eave outlets are GFCI protected.  A GFI will trip for a variety of reasons, but your Christmas lights will trip your GFI if they are on during a heavy rain. To reset your GFI you will want to find your GFCI reset button.
  • If you are having no luck finding the GFCI reset, look in rooms that may have moisture at times: basement, utility room, laundry room, garage or a bathroom.
  • If you have new lights and they are not turning on, most likely the GFCI was tripped previous by something else and needs to be reset.
